Research in the Public Library of New-York , in passenger list Index, Suzan discovered the name of the alsacian Daeschlers from Monswiller who migrated between 1877 and 1879. She also met our cousin Lisa in a genealogical E-mail list. Lisa contacted us one year after...

The page is made by JP Daeschler from Suzan's researchs .

Thank you Suzan for all these interesting research . Suzan is our genealogy consultant in USA, Maryland! She is first of all one of the best friends of my parents and mine . I visited her in July 1998 in MD, and she came in Europe the same year then we visited Rainer in Stuttgart. Suzan's Email : sdrescher@webtv.net. Thanks to help her to find Drescher's roots in Alsace and Germany too.!!!

Subject: Deschler Family New Jersey / Wisconsin
Posted by: Debbie Oakes
Message: I'm looking for any information on the Deschler family from New Jersey that may be related to the Deschler family in Wisconsin. My great great grandparents where married in Newark, N.J. around 1866 and sometime after moved to Racine, WI. My great great grandfather's name was Joseph Deschler and he was born in 1842 in the Black Forest region of Germany. He also served in the Civil War and had enlisted in June 1861. My great great grandmother's name was Mary Smith-name changed to in the US / Schmidt and she was born in 1846 in Alsace-Lorraine, France. I don't know when they came to the U.S., but believe they did as children and probably had brothers and sisters that remained in New Jersey. Also believe their parents are buried in New Jersey.

Any information would be very much appreciated.

Thanks!!!
Debbie

SD34, New Advent article about Numismatics about Joachim Deschler , Medail Maker in Austria.

" The German medal reaches its prime soon after the year 1500, considerably later than the Italian: among the oldest examples that have come down to us are those of Albrecht Dürer. Many of the artists give us no clue at all to their identity or sign themselves by marks or symbols that are often difficult to interpret. It has now become possible, however, to assign definitely a long series of very valuable medals to Peter Flötner, a master of Nuremberg, who must therefore be considered as one of the foremost of all medallists; he is closely followed by Matthes Gebel. Other noteworthy medallists of this period are Hans Daucher...

.. Joachim Deschler, who finally settled in Austria, where, especially in the mints of Vienna... "
